Lots of times we don’t notice our diets among our habits…we run around, busy, grabbing empty calorie snacks and fast food to get us by. Then we wonder why we feel dragged out and tired all the time. You are what you eat! Your body/mind (machine) needs proper nutrition to function at its best. Many grab and go foods are lacking in quality nutrients and our bodies suffer because of it. When you fail to eat healthy for a long enough period of time, your body/mind (machine) begins to break down. Often our digestive system will try to warn our mind by acting out. Bloating, sluggish digestion, irritable bowels, gas, cramps and diarrhea are not only signs of sickness, but also of poor diet. These symptoms are just a few of the things that can plague a poorly fed body. Sadly many people fail to realise that diet can also play a big roll in depression[a] and adhd management[b]. Our minds, musculature and skeletal system, indeed, all of our body are fueled by the foods we ingest.

Most of us know that ingesting too much sugar can lead to diabetes and other health issues. Yet we often give it to our loved ones as a gift. We give it to our kids as a reward, a snack, as a bribe, however they receive it, children love sugar!  What message do we send when we do this? Do we love them and care for thier health or do we set unhealthy standards by doing so? Often we fail to explain, too much of a good thing can be bad.
In this life, we instill habits in many unnoticed ways. Companies spend millions on the marketing of entire holidays to get us to buy sugary sweets for our loved ones. It starts at a young age. Marketing executives are selling empty calories, toys and other products to people who don’t even have jobs yet! Explioting parents desire to make their children happy[1] and planting seeds in young consumer minds. Its become a socially acceptable habit. That doesn’t mean it’s harmless.
This is only one example of how society can find things acceptable which are not good for our overall health or prosperity. Look also at the cigarette industry, which was looked at as socially acceptable until people noticed it was killing even non- smokers! How many people suffer(ed) for lack of disclosure and honesty within an industry making millions upon millions? What kind of ills does our grocery industry hide? The rise of the sugar industry and the use of processed food products and other socially acceptable killers, like some pesticides [2] and Glyphosate [3] just to name a couple, have also given rise to autoimmune diseases, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, obesity and more! [4]
So basically if you wanna get to a higher state in life, you need to stop buying their crap and examine your diet. Protect your body from chemical invaders, nourish it with goodness. That’ll help you get your mind in a better working state and your body in a healthy machine state. Which will, in turn, elevate you to an overall better place.

Resisting negativity

20160419_104343  Things that breed negativity and fear are everywhere in life, if this is what we choose to look for (tv, social media, news papers, to name a few).The more we focus on them, the more fear and depression they feed us! So we begin to live in our minds, seperated, often fearful and worry filled. We tell ourselves we need to continue to watch out for all those things that “could go wrong”.  We hold onto beliefs that we should stay away from others, to protect ourselves. Thus, fear gives way to all manner of ill will and causes separation, through things like judgement, ridicule, hate, and often a lack of desire to understand or show compassion toward another. All of which, are negative practices that can leave us lonely and often depressed.
You must begin to look for the positive things in life and no longer dwell on negativity and fear, if you wish to be elevated!
One can not be lifted while holding themselves down. To be renewed in spirt and achieve happiness you must let go of the heavy burdens of anger, fear, hate, judgement, resentment and revenge.      You must find compassion (for yourself and others) as well as acceptance (of the things you cannot control) and faith in God, yourself (to overcome the darkness) and humanity (in it’s ability to rise above current ills). You need to believe in the higher power of positivity, and begin to practice it daily through gratitude.
It is good to develop a healthy diet to fuel your body/mind with proper nutrients. I suggest a cleansing period which includes a general detoxification as well as a spiritual renewal through prayer and meditation. Another great step is the initiation of a new program of physical activity. Exercise as well as, new(fun) experiences are helpful to relieve stress, increase/maintain health and can be a good way to build positive(and new!) memories.
If you want to really live, you gotta get up and get started! Do not let negativity control your life and thoughts! Life is to short to live in the dark…come out to the light, it feels great!

The power of positivity.

But let’s not get stuck on a title…God is love. God has had many names through time, all given by man. But the creator refers to themselve as “I AM”(exodus 3:14)
… Think about that
“I AM” you are, we are, ALL of us are, carriers of the spirit! The kingdom of heaven within…through the piece of God we house.
We can each bring heaven to earth thorough choosing to follow God’s words. By choosing love, compassion, understanding and acceptance. All examples personified by Christ. Also by various prophets, saints, and leaders who have personified loving kindness. The key commonality of these is the way they refused to condemn others based on personal judgements or to live in fear. Through out history,God has sent examples and saviors to free the downtrodden and stand up against abuse and injustice. These people have been strengthened by conviction of truth (of love within, Not nessicarilly man’s law at the time) they have often been martyrs. They choose to put thier very lives on the line for thier fellow man and have little consideration of self. Many were sainted by the church after thier death and are remembered throughout history. Of these, Jesus is the greatest example. If everyone lived with such conviction each of us would be living our purpose. Meanwhile, so many of us struggle to find that elusive quality of life.
Many are caught up in cycles of negativity and fear. These qualities are not the positivity the creator desires us to live by and often make our time here on earth a “living hell”.
The good news is that we always have the power to choose what we focus our thoughts and time on. Are you making good use our your time and talents? Or are you living in fear that you are not good enough, believing instead that you are powerless in your situation? If you want to change your situation, you need to change your outlook…choose to look thorough the lens of positive thought and thankfulness. These things can change your world!
Prayer, meditation and community service can help us find it. Choosing to consider the needs of others, before our own, puts our minds in an open place where we begin to strengthen the connection between us. It puts us in the light. You can choose to believe this light is of God, if you prefer to title it, but without doubt this light is positivity. It is the feeling of gratitude mixed with selflessness. It is free of the burdens of hate and resentment.
It is, no doubt, similar to the freedom that Christ felt as he exclaimed “it is finished”  (John 19:30) All of the weight of the world was lifted from him, as he knew, in that moment he had completed what God had asked of him, and was going to be with the father. Jesus lived as a perfect example of doing what is right in Gods eyes, over what we want. He payed the price of our sins through living a righteous life even up to the penalty death. He lived on purpose and with purpose. He lived as an example of a loving God here on earth, to show us the way to heaven (or bliss, if you choose). To lead us home …if we will follow. As you go about your lives, you don’t need to preach or judge, you only need to live in the example of Jesus and others will naturally come to know the father through your reflection of loving kindness. As a result, you will know peace as well.

Love is the greatest healer…

It is my intention to see people heal themselves of the negative influences of the world, and to prosper in loving kindness. We already have the ability within us, if we bother to cultivate it. We can each do our part to heal ourselves and together, we can perhaps heal the world. One soul at a time.

Through this blog, I will share thoughts, exercises and multiple methods that can help you to help yourself. I will share insights about mental health, nutrition and spirituality, as well as suggest places where you can find more information on these topics.

I will do my best to offer help to those who seek it and will later share information on how to contact me for private coaching.

Together we can impact our own lives as well as the lives of those around us, through the influence and example of living with love.
